Does Spotify Have a Sleep Timer?

According to Engadget, the sleep timer has been a requested user feature since 2012, only being implemented on both Android and iOS devices in 2019.

Spotify has a sleep timer. It operates on both android and iOS devices. The sleep timer causes the app to enter dormancy when in use, and this allows the phone to retain its charge that would otherwise be lost. The timer only works on mobile devices, and the desktop version of Spotify lacks the timer.

With the Spotify Sleep Timer, users can get into bed while listening to their favorite songs and playlists, and not worry that the music will keep playing throughout the night once they have fallen asleep. You may want to use The Sleep Timer on Spotify during bedtime since it will make sure that music stops playing once you fall asleep.

Using the sleep timer feature, users can configure Spotify to automatically switch off and stop playing music after a certain period. Once a 5-minute timer is completed, Spotify turns off and stops playing music. To be exact, the sleep timer function allows users to set a timer to have Spotify stop playing music.

Why the Sleep Timer Is Present

This sleep timer feature is a software update that Spotify Music app users will get, which is the time-to-go feature the company allows. Since this sleep timer feature is recently launched for iPhone users, you will need to first ensure the Spotify Music app is updated.

Spotify launched the new Sleep Timer feature earlier this year, which stops playing music after a certain amount of time, but it was available for Android app versions only back then. The Sleep Timer is an excellent music-playing feature that allows Spotify users to enjoy their favorite songs or podcasts without worrying about turning them off to save battery.

To use a sleep timer to shut down a running stream of their favorite music, users must also open up the Spotify app on their device and begin playing the song. Fortunately, I found the useful Sleep Timer option within the Spotify app, which helped save the battery of my phone, as well as keep the Spotify app from playing songs throughout the night. e.

Luckily, now you can use Spotify Sleep Timer, which lets you select the length of time Miranda’s soft, gentle voice will coax you to slumber for before turning itself off. If you think you are a lighter sleeper, but you would still like to enjoy a few tunes or podcasts before going to sleep, Spotify has a sleep timer feature that essentially stops playing music after a certain amount of time. While studying, working, or going to sleep, it is very common for listeners to want Spotify turned off after a set period.

The Advantage of Nighttime Calm

Some people indeed like to take advantage of a nighttime calm by listening to music on Spotify until they are asleep. Many of us like to listen to music, audiobooks, or podcasts on Spotify on our smartphones before we head to sleep.

I have made it a habit of falling asleep listening to older music on Spotify. On my bed, I will typically put Spotify on, or play a long YouTube video (thanks to YouTube Premium) and then I will go to sleep.

The design means that you can play a bedtime track that you love and get a good night’s rest, without worrying about Spotify playing on through the night. Now, you do not need to worry about podcasts continuing to play and disrupting your sleep.

All your music and video players will be turned off after the timer, so you can get some quality sleep. If you would rather have your music playing until you are asleep, but you do not want it playing through the night, you can set the timer to pause the playing. Choosing this means instead of playing alarm-style sounds when your timer ends, your iPhone will stop playing your music.

The Timer’s Functionality

You can set an exact amount of time that you want music to play, and when that time is up, it will stop. Then, you can select the duration of time that you want Spotify to play, be that five minutes, one hour, or the entire duration of a track. Spotify now lets you set timers of 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour, or the end of a track. If you have set the timer and you still have not fallen asleep, you can come back in and either toggle the Timer Off or choose to choose a different time.

This type of functionality is available on Apple Music as well, only that this Music timer is not the same as Spotify Music Player Service as it can be set from within the Apple Watch app on an iPhone or iPad with a Stop Play option from When Timer Ends menu.

The sleep timer function is one of the options that Spotify users have been asking for quite some time and is a must-have for anyone who cannot relax without listening to their favorite music. Before the release of the Sleep Timer feature, we needed a separate application from the Google Play Store to benefit from sleep timers on Spotify (or other streaming music applications).

Spotify music player service looks at all of its user’s habits and device capabilities. Spotify also has a large range of helpful features which makes it ideal for all of your music listening needs.

Not only are you able to listen to music using Spotify, but you can also play a few podcasts when traveling or just before going to bed. Going to bed with Spotify can be a bit of a hassle, as you run the risk of running out of battery power, or annoying the neighbors if they do not realize just how much you want to be in the room that is happening.
